After a break of 4 months, which is longer than the close season itself, the 1^st Team finally return to league action this weekend (28 February) with a home fixture against table topping Birmingham Athletic.

Athletic currently lie 10 points ahead of Dudley in second position but the table doesn’t quite paint an accurate picture as they have played 5 games more than both Dudley and us.

The teams met on the first day of the season and City came away with a creditable point. After being caught for the first quarter of an hour like startled rabbits in the headlights, Coventry then settled into their new league and could quite easily have snatched all three points late on in the game.

The Sky Blues are one of only three teams to have taken points from Birmingham this season along with Dudley and Leamington and with recent new signings Hannah Paulie and Abbey Gibson strengthening the squad, the match could prove to be an extremely mouth-watering fixture.
